Position Overview
The Catholic Institute are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, engaging in impactful professional development, and contributing to the academic community’s of CIWA and UNDA.
Selection Criteria:
• Delivering engaging lectures and seminars in Religious Education and
Theology.
• Experience in teaching in a ECE/Primary setting and in running Adult
Faith formation activities.
• Delivering, developing and updating CIWA Religious Education courses.
• Supervising and potentially assisting research with undergraduate and
postgraduate students in Religious Education.
• Participating in close collaboration with CIWA Staff and contributing to
the development of the aims of the Catholic Institute as outlined in our
Strategic Plan (2024-28).
• Engaging with the broader academic and professional educational
community.
Qualifications:
• A minimum Master of Education, or PhD in Religious Education or,
equivalent Theology qualification.
• Proven experience in teaching Religious Education.
• Excellent communication, IT and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the values outlined in our CIWA Strategic Plan
(2024-28).

About Us
At the Catholic Institute of Western Australia we offer our students in all our Tertiary Education courses greater understandings on how to teach and lead Religious Education in a Catholic school community.
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at the Catholic Institute of Western Australia, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of CEWA Accredited Religious Education and Theology units and contribute to the growth of Catholic Institute courses offered at: UNDA, ECU, Curtin and Murdoch Universities.
Your responsibilities will include teaching and coordinating these Religious Education courses, contributing to interdisciplinary research in areas such as theology, Church history and religious studies, and actively supporting the academic scholarship and community engagement initiatives of the Catholic Institute in partnership with CEWA and all universities.
